"The Cruelest Cut" finally online for your viewing pleasure. #V48hoursNZ

Here it is folks, "The Cruelest Cut" from Team Burnt Bridges.

Uploaded (finally) in glorious HD, unlike the competition version which was, unfortunately, submitted in pathetic old SD. But never mind, mustn't grumble, there is always next year. Thanks again from me to the team, you all did an amazing job. I had a blast and I'm already thinking about next year. Stand by...

In the mean time, enjoy the pretty pictures, glorious sounds and all the facepulling goodness...
If you prefer you can also view it, and leave lovely comments, in the official V48hoursNZ screening room.

Or, why not go crazy and review it?

And, lastly, a quick thank you to this lot, without whom we would have truly burnt our bridges:

Envy Studios
Ellerslie Racecourse
Tony's Wellesely Street
Crewcut Waikato
Great Southern Film & TV
Bob Coldham Mowers

Oh, and just 'cos I can, here's a little mid-shoot-planking shot of Mr Turner:

Foley

(download)

The brilliant Samantha Jukes and the team at Envy Studios doing some foley to enhance our film.

Here you see Samantha reproducing sounds to create a sense of reality within a scene, such as walking on grass.

Without these crucial background noises, the scene would feel uncomfortably quiet, and would detract from the audience's experience of the film.

We Won

Congratulations to Team Burnt Bridges for winning a 1st place Audience Award.

The Audience Awards are the Top Three films as voted by the audience, which is usually made up of other team's cast and crew. Before the screening starts, 48 Hours organizer Ant Timpson gives everyone a ballot, and asks them to give 3 points to their 1st favourite film, 2 points to their 2nd favourite film and 1 point to their 3rd favourite film. The film with the most points wins an Audience Award.

Our film screened in as part of Auckland Heat 4 on Wednesday 25th May.

A few extra pics

A few more pics I didn't get time to post over the weekend.
It all started with this...

I love it when the kids visit set, especially when it means we can rope them in as extras (safety first, of course.)

Compulsory pic of a scene being shot via the monitor. Kelson and Michelle and the "Bobby Young 360" hero mower.

Kelson rocking the ADR at www.envystudios.co.nz. Envy, quite frankly, saved our asses after AVID decide it didn't want to play anymore.

And a frantic, possibly ever-so-slighly less than legal bike ride resulted in...

Drop Off

The plan is Kim and I will drop off a 'safety copy' at 6.00pm approx.

If the team can finish the high-res version before the deadline, then Fraser will hop on his motorbike and race to the Aotea Centre. USB stick in hand. Highway to the Dangerzone in head.

Like a military operation, we huddled around a map looking at how close we could get to the drop off point.

At this point, Fraser is prepared to drive inside the Aotea Centre on his motorbike, like an action movie hero.
